OUR HISTORY
The Downtown Partnership of Sarasota, Florida was established in 1979 to bring people and events including the Farmers Market to the languishing downtown. Thanks in parts to its efforts downtown Sarasota is now experiencing unpresidented growth with projects estimated total of 3 billion dollars underway in the center city.
In response to this growth and the changes occurring in Downtown Sarasota, The Partnership redirected the organization's efforts toward policy development, research, education and advocacy reflecting a new direction, one that emphasizes collaboration with others to create a vibrant, exciting and diverse Downtown.
